This program is available no matter how many medications a patient may require. Some reduced-cost prescription programs are available no matter income level. Even moderate-income Mainers, such as a family of four that makes $60,000 a year, may qualify for no-cost prescription drugs.
- Additional Information:
In addition to local generic medication savings at certain pharmacies, free medications are available through pharmaceutical companies’ Prescription Assistance Programs (PAP). Patients with computer access can apply directly to drug companies for assistance, but the application process can be cumbersome. MedAccess caseworkers, using special software, help patients find the right PAP and assist them with the application process. The process includes income verification and physician verification. Patients can expect to know if they qualify within two to six weeks.
