The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) located at 235 Main Street in Biddeford bridges the gap between inpatient and outpatient programs. It provides an alternative to hospitalization for psychiatrically (mentally) ill people. It is for persons who require more intensive treatment than outpatient office visits, but less restrictive than 24-hour inpatient care. Individual treatment planning with specific tracks and lengths of stay to address goal attainment will be provided. A multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, social workers and nurses provide care. Through collaboration amongst staff, therapists, the client and his or her family, and community resources, this program assists the client in achieving the highest possible level of emotional stability and independent living. Treatment is focused on group therapy activities and skills acquisition. Clients are taught how to manage emotions, distorted thinking patterns, and belief systems that contribute to their emotional distress. Wellness and stress relief are also addressed. The goal is to reduce psychiatric symptoms to prevent inpatient hospitalization.
Program Hours: The PHP operates five days a week Monday through Friday from 8:45am - 2:20pm. You may be asked to come early the first day at 8:15am to complete an intake assessment with your assigned clinician.
