Southern Maine Medical Center (SMMC) is joining forces with the MaineHealth Learning Resource Center to offer an educational class open to the public titled, “The Beat Goes On”. This series will teach skills to help individuals manage their condition or connect with others who have heart failure. It will take place on Thursdays from September 27 to October 25, 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at SMHC Physicians, 9 Healthcare Drive, Biddeford.
The series topics will include:
• You Can Do This: Self-Management Skills for Living Well with Heart Failure;
• Eating Well with Heart Failure: Get the Low Down on Salt
• Pills and Me: Understanding the World of Heart Failure Medicines;
• Pump it Up: Exercising with Heart Failure; and
• Ahhhh: Managing the Stress of Heart Failure.
The cost is $5 per person fee for the entire series, with scholarships available. Space is limited so pre-registration is required, please call the MaineHealth Learning Resource Center at 1-866-609-5183.
