Let's Go! York County Announces Sites of Distinction

Let’s Go! York County, a program of Southern Maine Medical Center and Goodall Hospital’s Partners for Healthier Communities,  announced the recognition of 26 York County Sites of Distinction supporting healthy lifestyles for children and families during its 2012-13 program year. The sites include seven area healthcare practices, nine early childhood programs, six schools, and one afterschool program.

At a recognition dinner held at Duffy’s Tavern in Kennebunk on November 7, Let’s Go! Founder and Director Tory Rogers, M.D. presented site leaders with framed certificates of recognition rewarding the sites for their hard work in the previous year. All 20 sites with representation at the event are also current Let’s Go! sites for the 2013-14 year.

“We are immensely proud of the work York County Let’s Go! sites have done, and what a fantastic opportunity to have so many accomplished folks from our area gather together to celebrate that work,” said Rogers, a Saco resident, after the event. “It's an exciting chance for them to meet and share their great stories with each other and with us, as well as to receive the recognition they so well deserve.”

In addition, 69 healthcare practices in Maine were recognized for successfully implementing the three components of becoming a Let’s Go! healthcare site:

1. Provide consistent 5-2-1-0 messaging in offices
