Do you or a loved one suffer from heart failure? Have you wondered what you can eat, whether you should exercise or have questions about your medicines? Southern Maine Medical Center (SMMC) is joining forces with the MaineHealth Learning Resource Center to answer your questions through an educational program entitled “The Beat Goes On.” This series will teach skills to help individuals with heart health issues manage their condition or connect with others who have heart failure. Classes are being held on Thursdays from April 25 to May 23 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at SMHC Physicians located at 9 Healthcare Drive in Biddeford.
The Beat Goes On covers:
•You Can Do This: Self-Management Skills for Living Well with Heart Failure;
•Eating Well with Heart Failure: Get the Low Down on Salt;
•Pills and Me: Understanding the World of Heart Failure Medicines;
•Pump it Up: Exercising with Heart Failure; and
•Ahhhh: Managing the Stress of Heart Failure.
