Dana
Davis, LPC
Psychotherapist, Outpatient Services
Ms.
Davis is a licensed professional counselor with 10 years experience
in the mental health field. She provides individual and family psychotherapy for children and adolescents. Her
clinical interests include play therapy, family dynamics, trauma
issues, abuse issues, attachment issues, and developmental disorders
such as Asperger's. Ms. Davis regularly provides community
presentations on mental health topics. She is a member of the Texas
Counseling Association, Association for Play Therapy, and Texas
Association for Play Therapy.

Beach, Ph.D.
Psychologist,
Outpatient Services
Dr.
Beach provides individual and family psychotherapy for
children and adolescents and psychological testing on an
inpatient and outpatient basis. His clinical interests
include family system contributions to children's
mental health, parent-child interactions, group psychotherapy, and
family communication. Dr. Beach is a member of the American
Psychological Association, American Group Psychotherapy
Association, San Antonio Psychological Association, and San
Antonio Group Psychotherapy Society.

Delana Davis, LCSW
Psychotherapist, Inpatient Services
Ms. Davis provides individual, group and family therapy in the
Center’s inpatient program. Her work also includes conducting
psychosocial assessments and writing treatment plans. Ms. Davis’
clinical interests include group therapy, family interventions,
self-esteem training, and therapy with high-risk adolescents from inner
city areas.

Rick Edwards, LPC
Director of Inpatient Services - LPC Supervisor
Rick Edwards directs the Acute, Residential and Partial Hospital
Programs. He has worked at the Center for 29 years. He has provided
individual and family therapy to countless children and adolescents.
His experience includes supervision of counselors and interns, as well
as training psychiatric residents. Mr. Edwards’ clinical
interests include perpetrators of abuse, self-injurious behaviors,
family dynamics, and anxiety disorders. He is also a member of the
Texas Counseling Association.

Wayne J. Ehrisman, Ph.D., ABPP
Psychologist - Director of Psychological Services
Dr. Ehrisman began working at the Center over 33 years ago. He directs
the Psychological Assessment Services, provides supervision, training
and consultation to clinical staff and trainees and supervises the
psychology residency rotation. Dr. Ehrisman is affiliated with several
organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the
American Academy of Clinical Psychology, the American Board of
Professional Psychology, San Antonio Society for Psychoanalytic
Studies, Texas Psychological Association, Bexar County Psychological
Association, and the National Register of Health Services Providers in
Psychology. His academic affiliations include Clinical Professor, Dept.
of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center San
Antonio and Adjunct Faculty at the Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic
Institute. Dr. Ehrisman’s clinical interests
psychoanalytic/psychodynamic approaches to diagnostic assessment and
psychotherapy with children, adults and families.

Geoff Gentry, Ph.D.
Psychologist - Clinical Director
Dr. Gentry is responsible for clinical administration of all our
clinical programs. He is also the chair of the SMHC Training and
provides clinical supervision for therapists. Dr. Gentry is a Clinical
Assistant Professor in the Psychiatry Department at the University of
Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Gentry has given
numerous presentations on child and adolescents mental health issues.
Dr. Gentry is a member of the Bexar County Psychological Association
and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. His clinical interests include
psychodynamic psychotherapy, integration of individual and family
therapy, stages of change, clinical formulation, consultation, and
clinical supervision.

Efrain
Gonzalez, LPC
Efrain
Gonzalez is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over seven years
experience in the mental health field. He has experience working
with adults, children and adolescents. His expertise also
focuses on domestic violence, drug/alcohol addiction issues. He
currently provides individual, group and family therapy
for children and adolescents in the Acute Care, Partial and
Residential programs. Mr. Gonzalez also enjoys giving educational
presentations about mental health issues to the public.

Jeffrey
Grimes, Ph.D.
Clinical Psychologist
Dr.
Grimes provides outpatient psychotherapy, psychological assessments,
and inpatient consultations. He is actively involved in the
training of psychology residents and the inpatient staff at SMHC.
His clinical interests include clinical case formulation, projective
assessment, and psychoanalytically-informed psychotherapy. Dr. Grimes
is a member of the American Psychological Association and the San
Antonio Society for Psychoanalytic Studies.

Lauren Groves, MA, LPC, LCDC
Director
of Substance Abuse Services
Lauren
Groves is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Chemical
Dependency Counselor and is a certified school counselor with
five teaching specialties including Special Education. Mrs. Groves provides
psychoeducational services by leading teen groups on substance
misuse and prevention. Additionally, she provides consultations in
the Acute Care and Partial Care programs, substance abuse counseling
and supports
the primary therapist when requested in family counseling sessions
involving substance misuse issues. Mrs.
Groves is a member of the Texas
Counseling Association, The Texas Association of Addiction
Professionals, The National Association of Alcohol and Drug
Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) and the Medical Center Rotary Club.

Jan Marie Hernandez, LCSW
Psychotherapist, Inpatient Services
Ms. Hernandez provides individual, family and group psychotherapy for
children and adolescents in the Acute Care and Partial Hospital
programs. Ms. Hernandez has 15 years experience in mental health and is
trained in CPR, Basic First Aid and non-violent crisis prevention
(CPI). She is a member of the San Antonio Society for Psychoanalytic
Studies, Texas Association for Play Therapy, Alamo Area Mediators
Association, San Antonio Group Psychotherapy Society, American Group
Psychotherapy Association and the National Association of Social
Workers. Her clinical interests include family dynamics, mediation,
psychodynamic therapy, psychotherapy groups, solution-focused brief
therapy and therapeutic game play.

Ramona Leonards, LPC
Psychotherapist, Outpatient Services
Ms. Leonards has over 27 years experience in mental health counseling
and consultation services. She came to the center as a liaison between
SMHC and the Northside ISD, providing consultation and counseling
services to students in regular education who did not have access to
mental health services. She has worked with various school districts
throughout her career and has a wide knowledge of community resources.
She has also been trained as a Low Elements ROPES Facilitator. Her
clinical interests include depressive disorders, trauma recovery,
anxiety disorders and developmental disorders, such as Asperger's
disorder.

Marina
Martinez is a Licensed Master Social Worker. Ms. Martinez provides
individual, family and group psychotherapy for children and
adolescents in the Acute Care, Residential and
Partial
Hospital
programs. Her clinical interests include family dynamics, individual
psychotherapy with children and adolescents, psychotherapy groups,
reality therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Joanna Meek, LPC
Psychotherapist, Inpatient Services
Ms. Meek provides psychosocial assessment, individual, family and group
therapy for children at the Center. Ms. Meek has over 10 years
experience working in the mental health field. Her training includes
cognitive-behavioral counseling, assessment services, play therapy,
reality therapy and art therapy. Her clinical interests include
reactive attachment disorder, early onset schizophrenia and bipolar
disorder in children.

Poul C. Poulsen, MA, LPC

Mr. Poulsen provides psychosocial assessments, individual, group and
family therapy for children and adolescents at the Center.
Mr. Poulsen's training and experience includes cognitive behavioral
therapy, psychological assessment and behavior analysis. With over
16 years of experience, his clinical interests and previous work
experience include depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, anger
management, group therapy, behavior problems and family issues.

Ms. Schiotis provides bilingual individual and family counseling to
children and their families in our Acute Care, Residential and Partial
Programs. With over 15 years of counseling experience, Ms.
Schiotis’ clinical interests include child sexual abuse,
depressive disorders, play therapy, and rational emotive therapy.

Ms. Treviņo provides individual, group, and family counseling
for children and adolescents at the Center. Ms. Treviņo has over
9 years experience in counseling. Her clinical interests include
trauma, family dynamics, depressive and personality disorders.
