Speech Language Pathology (Speech Therapy)

Our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) evaluate and treat children and adults with a variety of impairments that affect language, communication and oral motor function. This includes a variety of diagnoses such as autism-spectrum disorders, neurological trauma such as traumatic brain injury or stroke; degenerative disease such as Parkinson’s, Dementia, & ALS, and those with congenital and developmental delays. Our Speech-Language Pathologists provide individualized treatment programs for each client focusing on return to independent living, work/school, and social life. They also work closely with Physical and Occupational therapists to provide each patient with a full recovery, both mentally and physically.

Disorders treated by our Speech-Language Pathologists include:

  • Feeding/swallowing (dysphagia)
    • NMES (neuromuscular electric stimulation) Vitalstim
  • Speech and language
    • Dysarthria/apraxia/aphasia
    • Delayed articulation/language
  • Voice
    • Vocal nodules, vocal abuse, vocal fold dysfunction
    • LSVT (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment)
  • Social/Pragmatic Language
    • Social Groups with use of Social Thinking curriculum
  • Cognition
    • Memory
    • Attention
    • Executive Functions
    • Thought Organization
    • Problem Solving/Reasoning
  • Social skills/pragmatic language
